Cattle Auto Draft Module Instructions
Product Overview
Take your drafting to the next level by upgrading to pneumatic powered automatic control of your drafting gates. Pneumatic rams are mounted on the drafting gate module so the gates can be opened and closed automatically via integration with your scale system and also manually via remote control.
The Auto Draft System only powers the drafting gates and utilises your existing, manually operated weigh crate or Cattle Crush.
This system will auto draft by weight or other criteria from your Scale System or you can manually operate it by remote control. The remote controls the two drafting gates manually and allows you to override the Scale System drafting decision.

Specifications:
- Connects to common brands of scales including Te Pari, Tru-Test and Gallagher.
- The Te Pari Auto Draft Gate System requires an air compressor and power supply.
- We recommend a compressor that has 10cfm or 350 litres per minutes pump displacement and a 50L tank.
- Free air delivery at 90PSI should be 8.76 CFM or 248L/Min.
- The power supply can be connected via the provided cables to a 12V battery or a 240V power socket.
- Requires a level concrete surface at least 2.5m wide.
Health and safety:
- Keep your hands, fingers and limbs well clear of any pivots, hinges or other pinch points on your crush and drafting module. For example, the head bail doors, and other moving mechanisms.
- Do not enter the area in front of the crush until you have checked that the animal is fully secured. It is safe work practice to keep clear of this area.
- Whenever possible do not work alone.
- Make sure you read and understand the correct operating procedure for your crush before you use it.
Installation Instructions
1. Unload and position the draft module
- Use a forklift under the top main frame rail of the draft module. Take special care to avoid placing forks on the rams or handles.
- If you notice any freight damage on arrival, please notify Te Pari Products immediately.
- Bolt the draft module to your concrete pad in position in front of your cattle crush/chute.
2. Connect the air supply
- Install the filter system on the Draft module. It needs to be positioned on the back of the control box.
- Connect your air compressor hose to the filter system. Ensure cables are secured so they can’t move around or become trip hazard.
3. Control box installation:
- Attach the control box to top/front of the draft module.
- Connect the air inlet from the filter system.
- Connect the airlines to the fittings on the control box.
- Connect the communications cable and run the cable along the top of the draft module back to your scale system. Attach the cable securely to ensure it can’t come loose.
4. Connect the airlines to the rams
- Run the 6mm airline neatly along the side of the Draft module to the rams.
- Use appropriate clips or cable ties at the regular intervals to secure the line and prevent movement or wear.
- Ensure the airlines are positioned in a way that avoids sharp edges, moving parts or potential pinch points.
- Terminate the line at the rams attached to the draft module gates, ensuring a secure and airtight connection.
- Once connected, test the system for leaks and confirm full ram operation.
5. Install the Proxy Sensor
- Run the Proxy sensor cable right back to the entry gate of your crush and attach it using the bracket provided.
- Sensor needs to be in front of the steel gate when closed for it to work the way it should. When the entry gate is closed proxy sensor will trigger allowing the weigh cycle to start.
- The sensor light should be orange when the gate is closed.
