What can the Welsh grant funding be used for?
The Small Grants – Efficiency scheme supports investment in pre-approved equipment that delivers clear, measurable benefits to farm businesses. Each eligible item has a set reference cost, making it easier to understand potential funding levels.
Te Pari Products eligible under the scheme include:
- Cattle Handling Systems & Cattle Crushes
- Electronic Weigh Systems
- Sheep Handlers & Sheep Handling Systems
- Auto EID Dosing Guns and EID Readers.
Who can apply for the Welsh Farming Efficiency Grant?
You may be eligible to apply if you:
- Are registered with the Welsh Government and have a Customer Reference Number (CRN)
- Are a primary producer of agricultural products
- Have at least 3 hectares of eligible agricultural land registered with RPW in Wales or
- Can demonstrate 550+ standard labour hours
- Eligible farming sectors include arable, beef, dairy, sheep, goats, pigs, poultry, horticulture (including hydroponics and aquaponics), and apiculture.
You are not eligible if:
- An equine customer (including grazing horses)
- A forestry-only business or woodland owner
- A group of farmers or producer organisation (unless multiple holdings operate as a single business)
- Planning to use grant-funded equipment for agricultural contracting
