A heavy-duty calf castrator designed for banding older calves up to 6 months of age.

The XL Castrator is designed for castrating older calves from approximately 4 to 6 months of age. It uses heavy-duty latex rings and provides a large opening to make placing the ring over the scrotum easier.

Easy One-Handed Operation

The XL Castrator opens the ring to approximately 90 mm x 70 mm x 70 mm in a triangular shape. Once expanded, the mechanism stays open without the operator having to continually squeeze the handle.

After positioning the ring, simply release the lever to remove it from the castrator. This makes the XL Castrator straightforward to operate with one hand.

Heavy-Duty XL Castrator Rings

The XL Castrator uses specially designed heavy-duty latex rings. Each ring has an outside diameter of approximately 19 mm, is 10 mm wide, and is supplied coated with antiseptic powder.

Please note: Castrator rings are not included with the XL Castrator. Remember to add a 25-pack or 100-pack of XL Castrator Rings to your order.

Important Animal Welfare Information

Castration should be carried out when animals are as young as practicable, and requirements can vary depending on the animal's age and the procedure being used. Always check the current animal welfare requirements that apply in your country or region.

For New Zealand requirements, refer to the Ministry for Primary Industries Guide to the Animal Welfare (Care and Procedures) Regulations. The regulations cover farm husbandry and surgical procedures and specify requirements around who can carry out certain procedures and how they must be performed.
