Modern cattle yards are transforming the way farmers handle livestock. By integrating automated gates or remote-controlled drafting systems, you can make cattle handling faster, safer, and less labour-intensive.
Traditional yards often require multiple staff to open and close gates or constant walking back and forth to move animals. With automated cattle yards, your team can manage stock from a safe distance, reducing the risk of injury and improving overall efficiency.
Why Automate Your Cattle Yard?
By adding a remote-controlled gate to your forcing pen, working race, or drafting area, you keep staff out of harm’s way while reducing time and labour costs.
The Te Pari Taurus Auto Drafting Cattle Crush is designed to handle large herds quickly and safely, with minimal operator input. Simply connect the crush to your weigh scale indicator, set draft weight ranges or criteria from EID tag data, and the system does the rest.

How Auto-Catch Works:
Hydraulic-powered gates add another layer of safety and convenience. With the push of a button or a remote control, operators can open and close gates without anyone having to get in the pen with the animals. This not only reduces the risk of injury but also makes cattle movement more efficient. Te Pari can custom-design a yard system with hydraulic gates to suit your operation.
Pictured below are the Te Pari cattle yards with hydraulic remote-controlled gates and auto-drafting crush at West Wimmera Beef in Victoria, Australia.
The pens that lead into the race are hydraulic-powered and remote-controlled so that the operator can stand at the back of the pen and safely open and close the gates in front of the cattle. There’s also a hydraulic rotating gate in the circular force pen and a split sliding gate in the race that leads into the Taurus Auto Crush that can draft 5 ways.
