Warehouse Assistant

Overview

We’re a small, hands-on team looking for a reliable and flexible Warehouse Assistant to support our operations on an as-needed (casual) basis.

This role will primarily focus on warehouse and dispatch tasks, with additional involvement in the assembly of our livestock handling equipment when required.

For the first 6 weeks, you’ll also play a key role covering our Sales team member while they are on leave — providing support across customer orders, dispatch coordination, and general operations.

This is a great opportunity for someone who enjoys variety and wants to get their foot in the door, with potential to move into a full-time permanent role.

What You’ll Be Doing

• Picking, packing, and dispatching customer orders accurately
• Receiving and organizing incoming stock
• Supporting inventory control and stock management
• Operating equipment (e.g. forklifts) to load and unload goods safely
• Assisting with shipping documentation and order verification
• Assembling livestock handling equipment as required
• Supporting day-to-day operations, including basic admin coverage during staff absence
• Maintaining a clean, safe, and well-organized workspace

What We’re Looking For

• Previous warehouse, dispatch, or logistics experience preferred
• Comfortable with physical work and regular heavy lifting
• Forklift experience or licence is a strong advantage
• Practical/mechanical aptitude (for assembly work)
• Strong attention to detail and reliability
• A flexible, “jump in where needed” attitude
• Good communication skills — especially during the temporary sales support period
