Te Pari is a global market leading manufacturer of livestock handling and animal management systems. We are on the search for an Inter-Island Hiab Truck Driver to deliver our products.

This role involves seeing the country through your job! Travel all around New Zealand speaking to our ‘salt of the earth’ customers. Every week is an adventure – no two days the same. This is a dynamic and rewarding role so expect a new challenge and be ready to juggle tasks and adapt.

Key responsibilities: 

  • Accurate and efficient delivery of equipment including use of Hiab crane for unloading.
  • Plan your trips with the Logistics Coordinator including arranging your own accommodation, ferry bookings and truck maintenance. You will be an integral and engaged part of this process.
  • Professional communication to customers around delivery schedules.
  • Gather and report customer feedback and industry insights.
  • Ensure compliance with transport regulations and OH&S
  • Contribute to the overall company culture by living our values.
  • Installation of Products where required.
  • By demonstrating your self-management skills, you will bring value to the role.

You can expect: 

  • Travel all over New Zealand driving the Scania R650, 8x4 Crane Truck & trailer.
  • Most weeks away from home - Monday to Friday with some weekend work

  • Regularly working 14-hour days, up to 70 hours per week

Ideally, we are looking for someone who has a minimum of 5 years’ experience in a similar transport role including Hiab crane operation, with the ability to operate in a rural environment and complete jobs to the highest standard. Experience in the use of hydraulics is an advantage as is a keen interest in the agricultural industry, combined with the long-term desire to continue learning and succeed.

Other criteria: 

  • Ideal applicant located in the North Otago or Canterbury region.
  • Knowledge of transport regulations
  • High focus on health & safety
  • Excellent communication and organisation skills
  • Confident in maneuvering a 23-meter HPMV permitted unit in tight, rural settings.
  • Ability to do minor maintenance of truck & trailer, such as greasing of crane.
  • A class 5 License and forklift license
  • Mechanical aptitude and general computer skills
  • A strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
  • Physically fit and able to lift products safely and climb up and over the load.
  • Confident working under pressure with a positive, can-do attitude.
  • Eligible to work in NZ.
