Delivery HI-AB Truck Driver X2

Based in Oamaru traveling across the North and South Islands
Te Pari Products is a leading manufacturer of innovative livestock equipment.

To ensure safe and timely delivery of TPP products to our customers.  Our customer base is predominately rural deliveries and this can offer challenges from time to time.  The purpose of this role is to ensure that these challenges are overcome in a positive manner that adds value to the service TPP offer it’s customers.

Products must be loaded/unloaded to the NZ Truck Loading Code Standard.  Safety always being the priority.  Time must be utilized as per the driving regulations and adhering to TPP Motor Policy as well as the Official New Zealand Road Code, Land Transport Rules and all other legislative requirements.

KEY OUTCOMES

This position is responsible for tasks including:

Safety

  • Ensure everyone’s safety and promote safe behaviours in the team.
  • Participate in safety initiatives, training and development as required.
  • Safe loading as per the NZ Truck Loading Code Standard.

Compliance

  • Driver must ensure the truck and loads are safe and compliant at all times.
  • Driving hours must recorded as per company requirements and NZ law.
  • Driver must comply to all TPP process and procedures as adapted from time to time.

Customer Satisfaction

  • Satisfied customers are key. The delivery is to be carried out in such a manner that customers appreciate the value of a TPP delivery.
  • Any feedback to be relayed to line manager.
  • Ideas for improvement are strongly encouraged.

Training

  • Participate in ongoing training and personal development in order to develop the role and ensure ongoing improvement in processes.
  • Train others in a continuous cross training environment using the skills matrix to identify priority tasks and people.

Conduct

  • Driver is to be well presented at all times.
  • Driver must keep a high level of internal housekeeping and hygiene in the truck at all times.
  • Driver must keep the external of the truck presentable at all times.
  • Driver must report defects to line manager at the first opportunity.
  • Driver must be courteous and mannered to everyone at all times.

Other

  • Safety will always be a priority in the Te Pari Products operations.
  • Carry out others duties as reasonably required.
  • Extensive travelling will be required in NZ.
  • Attend meetings as required from time to time.
Skills, Experience and QUALIFICATIONS

To be successful in this role ideally you will have:

  • Clean class 5 licence.
  • Safety training and a working knowledge of the new HSWA 2015.
  • Proficient working to The Transport Loading Code
  • OSH forklift certification.
  • Strong initiative.
  • Planning skills.
  • Experienced in Cook Straight ferry procedures.
  • Exceptional people skills.
  • A willingness and the aptitude to learn about all the products on offer at Te Pari.
  • Well organised with good attention to detail.
  • The ability to deal with issues in detail with a methodical approach.
  • A proven ability to work collaboratively and relate well.
  • Willingness to “go the extra mile”

Role description

To provide a service to various departments of Te Pari and to our customers here in NZ and around the world. This will involve ensuring a smooth flow of products into the warehouse and out to the production in a timely fashion to suit production needs. Transport and logistics are also involved ensuring we exceed customer expectations for delivery. Safety, communication and lean principles are paramount to the success of the role.

KEY OUTCOMES

This position is responsible for tasks including:

Safety

Goods In

  • Receiving orders from suppliers following the Standard Operating Procedure.
  • Reporting as required.
  • Follow up of late orders.
  • Problem solving.
  • Communication of issues and poor performance.

*Goods Out

  • Preparing product for dispatch – palletising and packaging.
  • Loading of truck and trailer.
  • Loading onto freight and couriers.
  • Load planning and route planning.
  • Communication with customers.
  • Reporting as required.
  • Follow up of back orders.
  • Problem solving.
  • Communication of issues and poor performance.

General Duties

  • Picking items from warehouse to deliver to workshop prior to production.
  • Ensure smooth running of Kanban.
  • Stock counting.
  • Warehouse layout changes.
Skills, Experience and QUALIFICATIONS

To be successful in this role ideally you will have:

  • Safety training and a working knowledge of the HSWA 2015.
  • Fork lift certificate desirable.
  • Intermediate computer skills – WMS experience desirable
  • Lean experience desirable.
  • A willingness and the aptitude to learn about all the products on offer at Te Pari.
  • Well organised with good attention to detail.
  • The ability to accept and be involved in change as well as exceptional problem solving skills.
  • The ability to deal with issues in detail with a methodical approach.
  • A proven ability to work collaboratively and relate well to a diverse workforce.
  • Willingness to “go the extra mile.”
