The types of EID readers:
EID readers come in two forms – portable models and permanent units. The Donalds range of portable hand held tag readers, including both the stick readers and pocket type units, are light and easy to use - perfect for portable applications and for use at different sites. These high performance EID readers provide a super fast read of both half duplex (HDX) and full duplex (FDX-B) ISO compliant tags and are compatible with most models of Gallagher, Tru-test and Iconix weighing systems.
A permanent EID reader consists of an antenna panel that is fixed in place for hands free reading of EID tags in a specific area. A separate control unit is normally mounted nearby to the antenna. Donalds EID readers, including the innovative eRail system, are the best choice for animal identification at a fixed location such as a weighing crate or at a location in a race providing the most safety and quickest reading.
